On Saturday night I had the huge privilege of performing at the Steep 900 Celebrations, playing some beautiful music celebrating the South Downs Way by Damian Montagu, alongside The Tippett Quartet, Stewart Prosser, Dave Gale and Will Spencer.
I was also honoured to accompany the brilliantly talented violinist Alexandra Peel to perform Vittorio Monti’s Czardas and Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, which has been a dream of mine to play ever since I discovered the original piano version. You can hear a short segment of the latter piece in the video below.
Thanks to everyone who came to the event, to guest host Frank Gardner and the brilliant comperes, the staff at Bedales School where the concert was held and the Steep 900 organisers who looked after us all and made the event such a joyous one to participate in- as well as to Damian, whose beautiful ‘In A South Downs Way’ compositions brought us all together.
